Each painting in the rooms also establishes a connection to the actual scenery of Kasumi, constructing an ideal spatial structure for studying the ways of esoteric Buddhism. The pine trees and fields depicted in the "Peacock Room," located in front of the 11-headed Kwannon, correspond to the front garden. The "Carp Room" in the back corresponds to the carp pond behind the temple. And the ocean depicted in the "Landscape Room" corresponds to the Sea of Japan, which lies to the north of the temple. The "Monkey Room" on the second floor also corresponds to Mt. Mikawa, located to the south of the temple.
